Bonnie over at Bonnie's Books has tagged me for a Blogging Tips meme. Hmmm, memes.... hummmm, memes.... Hmph...
Let me say upfront that I'm not going to tag anyone because too many of the people I know hate being tagged for memes. So, if you want to do this, do it.
See, no pressure! (And I'll keep sitting on Atyllah and muzzling her just in case she has other views.... Ouch!)
-Start Copy-
It’s very simple. When this is passed on to you, copy the whole thing, skim the list and put a * star beside those that you like. (Check out especially the * starred ones.)
Add the next number (1. 2. 3. 4. 5., etc.) and write your own blogging tip for other bloggers. Try to make your tip general.
After that, tag 10 other people. Link love some friends!
Just think - if 10 people start this and the 10 people pass it on to another 10 people, you have 100 links already!

10. Thrown in something humorous occasionally, to keep things fun. * http://bonniesbooks.blogspot.com
11. Blog for yourself and your own pleasure, because you want to - if it stops being fun, stop blogging. http://absolutevanilla.blogspot.com
-End Copy-
And I'm going to add to more, just because I can!
12. Blogging is a multimedia environment, use the media to enliven your blog - words, images, video, music but...
13 ... stick to good design rules and remember that less is more.
And now I'm going to quiety and unobtrusively try and get away from Atyllah...
Ba-kaaaaaaaaak!
Oops!

Guess mine would be, think before you chose color, font and background, chiose things which are not stressful to eye. dont chose them just because you are fond of them :)
Mine is keep an eye on Wednesdays...they can slip away in the twinkling of an eye! :-)
Yep, I think design rules are very important, Rambler :-)
Hmm, Jon, Harry obviously kept you deeply engrossed! ;-)
Thanks for participating! The extended list for the tips are here: http://neonscent.com/blog/2007/07/19/blogging-tips-web-meme/
Lots of bloggers blog for money, not just for fun. But I say, blog because you like to!
I didn't know one could blog for money, Grace - goes to show I've still got lots to learn!
The internet is getting better and worse at the same time!
I think these things always come as mixed "blessings", Grace :-)
That's true. But it doesn't help global warming, unfortunately!
Completely agree with your tip (the one telling us to stop blogging when it stops being fun). Someone asked me the other day about the point of my blog, or where do I want it to go...I responded that I guess I don't really have a point, and I'm OK with that :)
True, Grace - we'll have to find ways other than blogging and blogging tips to reduce global warming! ;-)
Sognatrice - seems we're alike on that - I'm not sure of the point of this blog either - I'm just going along for the ride :-)
Excellent tips.
I'd have to add, go visit Sognatrice at Bleeding Espresso on Wednesdays, because she always has *incredible* recipes and photos of the dish, and most of it is Italian food or coffee... either way, can't be missed.
Also, Jon's got '5 things what are good' almost every day, and those are always worth a visit! Daily smiles.
Scarlett & Viaggiatore
Yep, those are good tips, Scarlett - I've been known to visit both blogs :-)
Can I add another point...
14. Keep it as short as possible. Too many blogs have posts which just go on and on. Brevity is the key to keeping people coming back. Short, sharp, snappy posts.
It's well understood that most people will only stay a short while. I saw a comment the other day on Wandering Author's blog in which the commentator questioned why he had tagged his extremely long tag with "genocide". If she had read the post in full she would have fully understood. The fact is she couldn't really be bothered. But she still had to comment...ooh I wonder why?
Of course, there is an argument for keeping comments succinct and to the point too!
Oh I guess I failed on both counts! ;)
Very good point, Lehane - I for one would do well to remember it more often :-)
